The Flir i7 Thermal Imaging Camera has been discontinued.

Hey all. We can all start to see that thermal imaging cameras are becoming the new standard for home inspectors and contractors by providing the functions of several devices simultaneously and with much greater efficiency. However, until recently, getting a quality image that would help you locate the problems in a home or building (let alone display this information for customers) was very cost prohibitive. The advent of MSX imaging on FLIR’s complete line of cameras, including the FLIR E5, makes lower cost models a great option for getting the job done.

Hello all. This is a brief little write-up about Flir’s new MSX Technology, known in long hand as Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging. This is fancy marketing speak for “the sharpest thermal images possible in this price range.” Just kidding, it’s actually a super advanced mathematical formula/technology that looks plain awesome.

This is my final entry on Flir’s new line of thermal imaging camera – the FLIR T600. This bad boy falls into the “performance” category for cameras and is a great intersection of price and features. As the name implies, the price and functionality of this camera fall somewhere between the T440 and the T620. As with all Flir’s cameras as of this launch, the FLIR T600 comes equipped with MSX technology for taking super sharp thermal images digitally etched with visible light details.

Hello to all. This is my post on the final entry in Flir’s new point-and-shoot line – the Flir E8. I actually had an opportunity to spend some hands on time with this particular camera a couple weeks before launch and it is awesome. The MSX technology that was previously included only on the ultra-expensive FLIR models is now standard on all their cameras and it looks great. Now the Flir E8 has a resolution of 320x240 which certainly helps with how good the images look but the MSX feature is truly amazing.

Welcome back. The Flir E6 is next up on our list of new Flir cameras. As I’m sure you have guessed by now, the Flir E6 also features MSX technology, Flir’s awesome new invention that etches visible light details onto thermal images. Long story short, it looks awesome and makes for very detailed reporting.

Hello again. The next camera in Flir’s new line is the E5. As you might expect the E5 is similar to the E4 I detailed last time with some notable upgrades. As far as similarities, the Flir E5 also includes MSX technology, as all of FLIR’s new cameras do, which performs real-time etching of visible light details onto thermograms, producing stunning results (see image at right).

Hello all let's talk about the Flir E4. This is the first in a series taking a look at the new line of thermal imagers out today from FLIR and they are awesome. The biggest thing that everyone will be talking about when these cameras release is the addition of MSX, Multi-spectral Dynamic Imaging, to all of FLIR’s cameras, including the E4.

The Flir i3, i5, and i7 Infrared Cameras have been disontinued.

I was involved recently in a meeting with the fine folks at FLIR and something that came up was the subject of IR thermometers or “spot guns”. Now most of you in the field are probably very familiar with these devices but some good talking points arose regarding why, if you want to increase your efficiency and long term money making potential, you should basically throw your spot gun in the garbage and pick up a point and shoot thermal imager like the Flir i3.
