Amprobe has released the
new 300 series of Industrial Clamp meters. Today I will be reviewing the AMP-310 HVAC Clamp Meter which is the entry level version of this series. This model is CAT III 600V safety rated and features True-RMS for voltage readings you can depend on. Some useful functions for this meter in regards to HVAC specific testing are DC Microamps, Diode Test, Temperature readings via Type K Thermocouple slot, and Inrush Current measurement. The Amprobe AMP-310 HVAC Clamp Meter also clocks in at a whopping 208g (0.46lbs) and comes packaged in a small case with Test Leads, Alligator Clip Set, and a Banana Plug K-Type Thermocouple. Standard tests for Frequency, Resistance, Capacitance, Continuity and Non-Contact Voltage are easily handled with a simple turn of the knob.
